KIMS announced winners for youth entrepreneurship investment in Mogadishu

 

Kaah Islamic Microfinance Services ( KIMS) announced  winners for Youth entrepreneurship investment project in Mogadishu).

 

(Mogadishu, 4 April 2016) KIMS  held youth entrepreneurs  in Mogadishu  beginning of this year.  39 Youth entrepreneurs( boys and girls) participated in the competition.  20 young entrepreneurs were short listed in the first phase of the competition.  The short listed applicants completed three months business development training which took place in Mogadishu.  9 youth entrepreneurs submitted their business plan applications and requested for loan investments.

KIMS held winners announcement events in Safari Hotel in Mogadishu after finalizing the selection process in Mogadishu on 7 April 2016.

The different groups of the community attended in the events including community leaders, business leaders and none government actors.

Hassan Dahir Kims Mugadishu branch manager, Abdirisaq Derie from Shaqadoon,  Abdikarim Dhaqane from Kaah Express  and Saeed Ali representative from Chamber of Commerce in Mogadishu held speeches, and encourage the youth to follow up same steps as those winners.

KIMS is working closely with Shaqadoon Youth organization. Shaqadoon provided   youth entrepreneurship training.

 

KIMS company known to provide micro credit to small and medium sized business companies. KIMS Plus  project was unique in providing financial injections for the business who want to start new business or developing the exited one. This program is called the KIMS plus and it provides opportunities to develop existed business and creating new ones.

KIMS  has different branches operates in Somaliland, Puntland, central and southern Somalia cities and is planned to expand in the future and opening new offices in the Somali regions.

KIMS has been invested thousands of new start business as well as creating employment opportunities for hundreds for unemployed people.  KIMS assisted also indirectly income generation for thousands of lower income and poor family households to improve their livelihood.

 

KIMS provides business investment loans based on Islamic sharia law, in order to meet the social- economic needs for the local community.

The event activities ended in a great success.  The local media attended the event and covered the news to the public.
